  • How can I reduce anxiety or nerves before my driving test?

Practice is key to building confidence. Relaxation techniques, being familiar with the test format, and having a good night’s sleep before the test can also help. Remember that failing your test is not the end of the world. There’s no limit to how many practical tests you can take.

Our students always tell us how quickly the test goes.

  • What should I do if I fail my driving test?

You can rebook your test. It’s advisable to take further instruction to address any issues identified during the test before retaking it.

  • Can I practice driving with a family member or friend?

Yes, as long as they meet the legal requirements for supervising learners, which include having a valid driving licence for at least three years and being over 21 years old.

We recommend having 10+ hours of professional tuition before practising with a family member or friend.

  • What are the costs associated with learning to drive?

Costs include the provisional licence, theory and practical tests, driving lessons, and possibly additional studying resources. Test fees are £23 for the theory test and £62 to £75 for the practical test.

Booking lessons in bulk can help keep costs down. The average driver needs around 35 – 45 hours of professional driving instruction to pass their test. Our 36-hour tuition package costs £1495.

We recommend you budget around £1,500 – £2,000 to pass your test if you’re a complete beginner.

  • How do I choose a good driving instructor?

    1. Experience: Look for an instructor with a good amount of experience in teaching drivers of all skill levels. Experienced instructors are better equipped to tailor their teaching methods to individual needs.
    2. Reputation: Check reviews and testimonials from former students. A good driving instructor will have positive feedback and a strong reputation for success.
    3. Teaching Style: Consider an instructor’s teaching style and whether it suits your learning preferences. Some learners may prefer a more patient and relaxed approach, while others might like a more structured and assertive style.
    4. Pass Rate: Enquire about the instructor’s pass rate, which can give you an idea of how successful their students are in obtaining their driving licenses.
    5. Car Type: Ensure the instructor has a vehicle that you’re comfortable learning in, whether it’s manual or automatic, and that it’s well-maintained and safe. (we are currently using a BMW 1-series with a manual gearbox).
    6. Availability and Location: Look for an instructor who is available at times that suit your schedule and is located near your home or school to facilitate easy pick-up and drop-off.
    7. Cost: Compare the costs of different instructors or schools, but remember that the cheapest option isn’t always the best. Consider the value you’re getting for the price.
    8. Personal Rapport: Having a good rapport with your instructor can significantly impact your learning experience. Choose someone you feel comfortable with and can trust.
